A fictional studio/storage room is filled with drywall plinths, layers of red electrical wire, and three-dimensional casts (made from plaster/chalk and blackboard paint) of graphical representations of speech sounds. Analog signals of digital speech synthesis are sent to small metal reeds, each attached to an acrylic sheet resonator, causing audible vibrations of various sliding pitches and consonant buzzing. Two cardboard figures, modeled after Durer`s geometric figure drawings, mirror each-others` head movements (powered by household oscillating fans).
Exhibited at Anna Leonowens Gallery (Halifax, N.S.) and as part of The Works Art and Design Festival (Edmonton, AB.).
