Hand-drawn animation, collage, projection-mapping, and automation of plywood surfaces through hand-built electronics, hobby motors, and visual programming. Interactive sound instruments made from discarded metal CD stands, guitar tuners, discarded guitar strings, string, ping-pong balls, contact mics, and speakers. Single-channel video of North American television advertisements from 1977.
The work is a continuation of the New Living Spaces for Automata series investigating and re-working a 1977 Do-It-Yourself Home Repair instruction book with a playful, and sometimes surreal, humour. Produced while Artist-in-Residence at Titanik Gallery in Turku, Finland.
